Apply to Join the PVG Scheme

This disclosure is for joining the PVG scheme. It’s also for existing PVG members who want to work with a new vulnerable group. For example, if your membership is for children, but you move to a role working with protected adults too.

PVG scheme membership lasts for five years starting from 1 April 2026.

The Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) membership scheme is managed and delivered by Disclosure Scotland. It helps ensure people whose behaviour makes them unsuitable to work with children and protected adults cannot do ‘regulated work‘ with these vulnerable groups.

What happens next?

  • Order One or More Disclosure Checks

    Choose from 5 types of disclosure checks. Incudes Level 1, Level 2, Level 2 with barred list check, Join the PVG Scheme, PVG
    update for existing members.

  • Complete the Online Application Form

    You will be issued a link to the online application form.  If you have purchased disclosure checks on behalf of one or more applicants, you can distribute the form to your applicants.

  • Next

    Once we have submitted an application to Disclosure Scotland, they will take around 14 days to process it.
